On Tuesday, October 6, Wildside Press will release the latest in the Chesapeake Crimes anthology series, Invitation to Murder, featuring 17 short stories by members of the Chesapeake Chapter of Sisters in Crime.
I’m pleased to have my own story in the new collection. “All Tomorrow’s Parties,” inspired in part by the Velvet Underground song of the same name, focuses on a single mother, estranged from her daughter and struggling with loss and addiction, who attends a work party that might help her to change her life—or else end it for good.
Other authors in the collection include Britt Alan, Karen Cantwell, Leone Ciporin, Maddi Davidson (Diane Davidson and Mary Ann Davidson), Sarah Hogroian, Eleanor Cawood Jones, Maureen Klovers, Jane Limprecht, Adam Meyer, Josh Pachter, KM Rockwood, Joanna Campbell Slan, Mary Stojak, Robin Templeton, Cathy Wiley, and Stacy Woodson.
Invitation to Murder was edited by Donna Andrews, Barb Goffman, and Marcia Talley, and the stories were selected by G.M. Malliet, Greg Herren, and James Lincoln Warren.
To help celebrate launch week, several contributors will participate in a day-long Facebook event on Saturday, October 10, at Book Lovers Forever—and my half-hour slot that day is at 11 a.m.
See you there!
