New Fiction in Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine

The Boy Detective & The Summer of ’74 and Other Tales of Suspense

Featuring sixteen stories, this collection, published by Crippen & Landru, represents highlights from nearly twenty-five years of my work as a writer of short mystery fiction—from my first story for Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine in December 1995 to my most recent publication, the title story, which appeared in the January/February 2020 issue of Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine and which has been named a finalist for the Agatha, Anthony, and Macavity Awards and won the Derringer Award. Included here are all of my stories which have won awards in recent years, alongside additional tales which have stood out as noteworthy in some way in terms of my career.

Thanks to Luke Buchanan for the original art on the cover, inspired by the title story.
