My review of Richard North Patterson’s new novel, Eclipse, appears in today’s Washington Post (Tuesday, January 6). It’s a book that I found both ambitious and successful on a number of levels, particularly because of the seriousness of the book’s political and economic themes and because of the passion that Patterson brings to his writing here. You can feel a thrilling level of engagement on almost every page. In addition to recommending the novel, I’m also pleased to see that Patterson himself will be involved in an online chat hosted by the Post; it begins today at 3 p.m.
In other news of my own: Our New Year’s guests departed yesterday, and I’m slowly getting back on schedule. Expect more frequent posts here, including the restart of that series of weekly interviews that had been on hiatus during the holidays.
