Keeping up with my plans despite being exhausted by the long, fun weekend at Malice. Today’s story is actually five stories, loosely connected around the themes of human contact, misconduct, and misanthropy. Selected for this year’s Wigleaf Top 50, “Five Miniatures” was originally published in The Collagist here.
I have read two short stories this month–“Bright and Morning Star,” by Richard Wright, and “The Country Husband,” by John Cheever. Good stuff. I’m now re-reading one of my favorites, “Red Wind,” by Raymond Chandler.
“Red Wind” is one of my own favorites, Harley. Need to go back to it myself one of these days!
